A Beekeeping Family, Honest Since 1980
Bee removal wasn’t the plan. Bees were. Forty-plus years later, we’re still the same family, still keeping bees, and still telling you the truth before you spend a dollar.
An allergy remedy that turned into a family business
Little Giant Beekeepers started in 1980 as a backyard hobby, not a company. Our founder, Louise Wright, was looking for a natural way to manage her allergies and started using honey — and got hooked on everything else the hive had to offer. She and her husband Harold began learning beekeeping together, and what started as a couple of hives in the backyard eventually outgrew the yard entirely. They moved to a bigger piece of land outside Dallas to keep more bees, and word got around.
People didn’t call about honey for long. They called because they had bees in a wall, a swarm on a porch, a problem they didn’t know how to solve — and Louise and Harold knew bees well enough to help. That’s the whole origin story: a beekeeping family who fell into bee removal because their neighbors needed them. Forty-five years on, that’s still the job.
"There was a time when we were the only company in Dallas to offer these services. There's a lot more competition now, but not everyone offers the same type of quality or ethical work."

Our interest in bees motivates us to continually educate ourselves on new advances in beekeeping and bee removal. Our affiliations include:
We are Licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
We're beekeepers who also do extermination — not the other way around
That order matters. We grew up loving honeybees for what they do for the world, and we still keep hives today. So when we show up at your home, we’re not defaulting to the fastest chemical fix — we’re looking at where the bees are and how they’re behaving to figure out honestly whether they can be saved. We save our honeybees whenever it’s possible. When it isn’t, we tell you straight instead of selling you a “live removal” we can’t deliver. Either way, you get the options and the price for each, and you decide.
No bait and switch — ever
Fair, honest, ethical. That’s the whole pitch, and it’s the reason the same customers call us back 25 and 30 years later. Before we ever drive out to your home, you’ll know exactly what you’re going to pay and exactly what we’re going to do. No surprise add-ons, no pressure toward the pricier job. We’ll never lie to get your business.
Licensed, and accountable to the beekeeping community
Little Giant Beekeepers is licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture. We’re active members of the Texas Beekeepers Association, the American Beekeeping Federation, and the American Apitherapy Society — the same organizations that keep us current on how bees and beekeeping are evolving. We’re also rated on the BBB, Google, Yelp, and Angi, and we’d rather you read the reviews than take our word for it.
Second generation at the wheel, third generation on the way
Louise and Harold’s daughter, Esther Davis, took over the business after her father passed and her mother was ready to step back — and she’s spent the years since keeping the same standard her parents set: excellent service and old-school integrity, no shortcuts. Some of our beekeepers and technicians have been with us 10, 20, even 30-plus years, and Esther’s own kids are now starting to work alongside her — the same way she once worked alongside Louise and Harold.
